PUL (풀)
My fascination with plants exploded last year when the pandemic hit us. I have collected plants ardently and even started importing rare ones internationally. Through that, I formed a nice friendship with a plant seller in Thailand. Tending plants in my tiny kitchen in Brooklyn became my favorite thing to do, and I thought that could be a good enough reason to make an animation piece of it.
PUL means 'plant' in Korean and the piece is about a little seed becoming a plant through its journey. The little one is clueless and confused at first, but it soon gathers its strength like all happy plants do.
Design/animation was done by me and sound design was created by my collaborator, Panos Pagonis (https://www.paeanaudio.com)
