I envisioned this piece when I took Jr.Canest’s course on Learn Squared in the fall of 2016. Little did I know, the piece expanded beyond its original scope and I was able to complete the piece a year and half later.
The piece is about the birth and journey of our perception.

How do we take in words and life events using our senses to understand the intricate world around us? For the longest time, I have been wondering how perception plays an important role in my life and has made me the person I am now.
Dear Universe captures the journey of perception, from the moment fragments of life form complete bits to their eventual storage in a vast cognitive library. When this space collects enough data, it generates a seed that travels through various stages of the mind-landscape and morphs into a large and complex shape to give birth to a solid form--a concept. Pieces of accumulated concepts motivate actions within an individual and become the foundation blocks that build a being into a conscious organism.

I ended up using violet instead of the yellow hues for the final piece
